Kris Denton

Quintara is founder-led because the work depends on judgment.

We built it because I kept seeing the same thing.

At McKinsey, the recommendations were right. The economics were sound. The logic was airtight. And then they landed on organizations where the link between the insight and the people whose decisions would determine whether it worked had never existed. Centrally-planned initiatives, no matter how thorough, can’t hard-code the design for every permutation that occurs in day-to-day decisions made at the edge of the business.

At Accenture, we built the programs. The programs were well-designed. But the response to a complex problem was reliably a bigger program. Never the Occam’s Razor answer. The pattern was consistent enough that I stopped looking at execution and started looking at the model.

In private equity operating roles, I learned what it was. Recommendations don’t move organizations. Evidence moves organizations — when it’s specific enough, personal enough, and delivered to the right person at the right level. The gap between what the portfolio model assumes and what the operation produces is always measured in decisions someone made without being able to see their economic consequence.

Building a billion-dollar advisory practice taught me the last piece: the depth required to actually see what’s happening in a business — at the level where the economics are produced — is not solvable by deploying more consultants. You need infrastructure that does the reconstruction, and judgment that knows what to do with what it finds.

Each stage was a piece of the same picture. Quintara is the synthesis.

What this firm is

Proprietary analytical infrastructure. Advisory drawing on decades. A small number of clients.

The foundation

Proprietary analytical infrastructure. Senior judgment. The foundation for advice that can’t be replicated by staffing more consultants.

The advisory

Decades across strategy, operations, and private equity — pattern recognition, judgment, and direct engagement with the economics.

The asset

The analytical discipline underneath: a way of reconstructing how a specific business actually operates, at the resolution where its economics are produced.

The structure

Principal-led. Selectively supported by domain specialists when the work requires it. A small number of clients at a time. A constraint, not a posture.

What you get is the evidence, clear enough to act on. What builds from it is yours to keep.
